Xin Kuala Sepetang Seafood Restaurant 海上十八丁火车站海鲜村 Review

We made a short trip to Taiping Zoo on 7 March 2016. Jelly's first trip to the Zoo! We had fun exploring the Zoo until it was near dinner time and we were wondering where to eat... My parents in law in fond of seafood. That's why when ever they are not working and we eat out, we often eat at seafood restaurant (unless we don't have a choice)

We get to know (from the power of Internet) that Taiping is near Kuala Sepetang, a seafood paradise! With a little help from the internet and GPS, we made our way from Taiping to Kuala Sepetang. The route was surprisingly easy to reach with only 2 sharp curve turns and all the way was straight route! It was about 35min drive from Taiping zoo.
Kuala Sepetang is near Taiping

We arrived at Kuala Sepetang around 7pm, it was a fishing village. There are a lot of seafood restaurants! We can't decide which to enter as all the names looked very similar which contains "Kuala Sepetang" or "十八丁". We then stopped at one very unique shop to asked if they sell food because it is also written selling dried seafood products. The owner of the dried seafood shop asked us to try out Xin Kuala Sepetang Seafood Restaurant just a few shops next door. We saw the signboard everywhere but we can't find the shop's entrance! In my surprised after the shop assistant tell us to walk through a small "lorong"(alley) to find the shop...
Nope, this is not the shop we entered... LOL

 Overall Review :
Taste: Didn't feel thirsty after eating the meal. The portion is slightly small and due to my MIL was a small eater so it is sufficient for 4 of us (all adults). Their shrimp balls tasted quite unique as we hardly have these type of dish from where I normally dine. It tasted like fried wanton but with shrimps in it. Iceberg lettuce just tasted normal with nothing special. The tofu is also unique as the tofu is mixed of egg and water tofu so it has a little sweetness and egg flavor and they top it with salted vege. Jelly love the tofu! It is suitable for toddlers to have them. My parents in law mentioned that the fried fish is cheap and bigger in size, filled with lots of eggs compared to the size we get in our local market. It is crunchy and delicious but be careful when feeding it to toddlers as it might have choking hazards(small bones). Last is the sweet, sour , spicy squid. The squid tasted very fresh and it is nice to taste. As due to it has spiciness in it, it is not advisable to give it to kids, unless they can tolerate it. (8/10)
Service: We are asked to order at the counter. The waitress only ordered drinks from us and serve us extra rice if we need. As due to we are there during the weekday, the place was very friendly and attentive. They also have some baby chair available. It is also an open air restaurant. Because we are afraid that they will slaughter our pockets because we are not local that's why we didn't ordered many seafood. But frankly the price is acceptable.
Notes:
~ They have own parking opposite the shop, across the road.
~ Their portion is kinda small for big eaters.
~ Due to the place is filled with seafood restaurants, it is a little difficult to spot the entrance of the shop.
~ They have GST charges.
