Hai Boey Seafood Teluk Kumbar 海尾海鲜 Review

Seafood is always in my parent's in law list if we are to eat out. Today we drove all the way from mainland just to enjoy a seafood at Teluk Kumbar. It's around a 40min drive from mainland, but's it's worth the visit.

We went during weekday and eventually they closed half of the seating place. It was packed and it took a while for them to order. But dish serving was indeed fast, around 15-20 min wait, despite the crowd. They have live fishes so can keep Jelly entertained while waiting for the dishes to be served. If the fishes bored her, the beach also have swings and slides for children to play with while waiting for dish to be served.

Overall Review :
Taste: Didn't feel thirsty after eating the meal. Their clams are cooked in sweet, sour and slightly spicy sauce which is very appetizing. Next is the minced meat wrapped in egg plant, be careful of the toothpick which used to hold the egg plant before frying. Their Red Snapper in sweet and sour steam style tasted appetizing and delicious, it is only half a head. The Signature style toufu is a non spicy dish which we actually ordered for Jelly, she loves the mushroom! The last dish is crab with pumpkin sauce. It tasted like salted egg sauce with no traces of pumpkin anywhere! We also nearly (I mean nearly) wanted to lick the plate after the crabs! Over all tasted great! (8/10)
Service: The waiter was a little slow in taking orders from us but the dish is served rather quickly with the crowds. I noticed that their workers have specific roles and they are not overlapping to increase efficiency (example, order drinks, serve drinks, order food, serve food, cleaner, all are different people). Their seafood like crabs, shell fish and fish is priced by species and weight. Be sure to inform them your budget, the waitress are happy to introduce any dish which is within your budget. They even help us to clear the table and provide clean utensils so we can cut a cake for my father in law's birthday.
Notes:
~ Children friendly area with swings and slides at the seaside.
~ Child seat is also available.
~ They have GST charges.
~ Ample car park available.
~ Only operating from evening to night (Dinner time)
