Easy Oven Baked Chicken Recipe

It was when I was scrolling on Instagram and saw some posting on chicken dish, and they look delicious! Downside on me with cooking is that I had a toddler so prepare time must be short else she will cling on me before I finish cooking. So I choose to oven bake instead. I manage to prepare the chicken and marinate in the morning and cook it during lunch time and served with rice. Another advantage of cooking using a conventional oven is that the oven does the cooking! This recipe in which I am going to share is also suitable for kids, and Jelly loves it. Recipe as below:

Easy Oven Baked Chicken Recipe

Chicken Recipe
Yummy!
Best served with rice

Prepare time: 10 minutes
Marinate time: at least 3 hours
Cooking time: 55 minutes

Ingredients:
5 chicken thighs (estimated around 1.1kg)
7 cloves of garlic
1 onion (around 3 cm diameter)
1 ginger (around 3 cm in size)
10 tablespoon light soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Method:
1) Clean chicken thighs and pat dry using kitchen paper towel. Poke flesh using a fork to enable the sauce to penetrate into the meat for some flavor while seasoning.
2) Minced garlic, ginger, onion into a bowl, pour in salt, sesame oil, soy sauce and honey and stir evenly.
3) Pour sauce over the chicken and mix well. Keep in the fridge to marinate at least 3 hours.
4) Preheat oven at 220°C. Use a aluminium foil as a base (for easy cleaning) and fold at the side to form a curve to avoid sauce to flow out of the tray. Place and arrange the marinated chicken on the tray and pour the remaining sauce onto the aluminium sheet and bake the chicken, skin side up for 30 minutes.
5) After 30 minutes, turn the chicken, skin side down and bake for another 10 minutes.
6) After 10 minutes, turn the chicken, skin side up and sprinkle some sugar on the skin for some nicely brown crisp and bake for another 15 minutes.
7) Sprinkle some sesame seeds and serve. Pour the remaining sauce into a separate bowl to serve together with the chicken.

Notes:
~ Child below 12 months old is not suitable to consume honey.
~ Please tear into smaller pieces and remove bones before giving it to a toddler.
~ If you like some spiciness, can add some chili powder into the sauce.
