It's a beautiful day when we are able to visit Johor Zoo! We went on a weekday so the traffic was not so jam, but the place was already packed with visitors. It is understood that the Zoo was still expending and it was in a better condition for the animals.

The Upcycle Park in Bandar Perda (Bukit Mertajam) has been recently officiate by Penang Chief Minister, Mr Lim Guan Eng. Wonder what is an Upcycle Park? It is a new concept by turning the wasted materials (such as tires, pallets, plastic bottles and so on) as decoration items and made a normal reservoir into a beautiful recreational park. All ideas and efforts are from the creativity of the staff of the Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP)! It is located next to the MPSP Headquarters at Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

One Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding at Gurney Paragon (27 August 2017)

This is my 2nd breastfeeding event that I joined this year for breastfeeding for 2.5 years! Of course weaning is still in progress and wanted to stop but every time Jelly gets sick, I feel very fortunate that I still breastfeeding her now. I am always in dilemma because she indeed recovers faster compared to formula feed babies.

Seberang Perai Fiesta Event (25-27 August 2017)

I am more excitied to go to Seberang Perai Fiesta Event at Seberang Jaya compared to Jelly & her dad. Obviously Jelly don't even know what is it there at the Fiesta until we arrived. We went around 5pm in the evening and there are slight drizzling. The place started to be packed with cars and traffic! Even road side parking also they collected parking fees illegally. Since it was near Seberang Jaya Tesco Extra, Jelly's dad parked at Tesco car park ans we walk our way to the Fiesta.

Yes, it is a housing area, but they fully utilized their small community field into an attraction area! It is a very nice place to take photos. I went with my family during a weekend and you can guessed it, it was fully packed! SOme of the visitors even rent a bus to visit this area! The management even prepared a public toilet in case you need to go~!

Jelly just enjoys running all the way! I was unable to catch her as she hops from one corner to another corner... LOL! She just loves running...

Avatar Garden (Tanjung Tokong, Penang)

It's a new mysterious attraction now in Tanjung Tokong, Penang, which is the Avatar Garden! I and my family mange to visit this area with lots of crowds who wish to enjoy the view as well. Honestly, you have to be there to feel the Pandora Mood~! LOL!

We had our dinner at The Pearl Garden Cafe, just a walking distance before we walk up to the Avatar Garden. With our bellies filled, we walk just 20 meters behind The Pearl Garden Cafe and here we arrived at the Avatar Garden! It is full of stairs and not convenience for those having trouble walking on stairs.

MPSP Taman Tema (Kompleks Sukan & Rekreasi SPT, Jalan Betek, Bukit Mertajam)

Weather these days is very hot (around 30 °c ~ 36 °c)! I planned on bring Jelly to a water park but since she is still young and not being able to play most of the water park games, and she still naps often, so we decided to bring her to a near by MPSP Taman Tema. "Taman Tema" means "Theme Park" in Bahasa Malaysia. It is located in Bukit Mertajam, Kompleks Sukan (Click HERE to view on google map).

As due to currently it's Ramadan month (Muslim friends whom fast on this month), it is less packed and due to my kiasu attitude, the place is not shaded and the sun will be very hot if we went around noon, we manage to arrive on 9am and first to arrive! It was still not very hot and empty as it is only operating starting at 9am - 1pm (Detailed operating hour at the end of this post).

Although some think of Water Theme Park as a big place with lots of games to play. Unfortunately this Water Theme Park only have one kiddy slide, but lucky the entrance fee was a cost of a packet of banana leaf triangle nasi lemak! Yup, you heard me, it only cost RM1 per pax (adult & kids)!

You are not allowed to wear shoe to enter the pool premises.

Since Jelly loves being wet, it's worth for her to roam around the area. It is all fenced up so need to enter by the entrance. The bad side of this areas is that it doesn't have a locker and their toilet/bathroom doesn't have proper lock latch.

Overall Experience:
The Good Side:
1) The place is not strict, and you can bring in your own float and pool equipment to play in.
2) This place has 3 pools with different depths(suitable for babies, toddlers and kids), but only 1 kiddy slide, so have to share while playing.
3) They provide shades and umbrellas in case you need to rest a while or to eat. They mentioned it is not allowed to being outside food but didn't be very strict in bring outside food, but make sure you need to keep clean.
4) Cheap entrance fees as I only let Jelly to play for 1 and half hours only since the sun is getting hotter. Worth the trip!
5) Free parking, they even have handicapped parking available.
6) The outside entrance of this MPSP Stadium is a Poke Stop! LOL... just in case you are playing Pokemon...

The Bad Side:
1) Toilet is not well maintained, with latch not working and smelly trash.
2) Pool is not very clean but free from tree leaves.
3) Be sure to keep your belongings close or don't bring any expensive stuff, because they don't have locker service, unless you wish to rotate to guard your belongings. I just brought a backpack with clothes and drinking water, our identification card and our phones. We didn't bring much cash on hand just to be safe.
4) Since the place is not shaded, better apply sunblock for skin protection.
5) Always keep an eye on your kids because there are no life guards around. Although the water is shallow for adults but kids can still drown.
6) No nursing or diaper changing room, so either you don't breastfeed or bring a nursing cover. As for diaper changing, need to do it in the car as the toilet is not very clean.

Tech Dome Penang at Komtar Dome

Tech Dome Penang let me feel like a kid again and experience Science in another new perspective. Wonder what they have? Seeing their price list makes me wonder "Is it worth it?" It is located at Penang's Komtar Dome. As I don't usually travel to Penang Island just for shopping so not very familiar with the parking area. You can park at several areas around Komtar. We had selected to park at Pragin Multi-level car park and walk over to Komtar using the link bridge (As some parking charged by hour and some charged at per-entry).

After sneaking through Pragin Mall and entered Komtar, they have signs showing where is Tech Dome is and we just follow their signs.

After getting our tickets, we went exploring the area. Their main attraction is the G-Drop which looks like a giant "J". Noted at their counter that G-Drop, G-Force & Speed Climb/Dark Tower/ Circuit Breaker has operating time which is 11am, 2pm & 4pm.

Their nursing room is very disappointing . It is just a very small room with a counter with a sink. No chairs, no bin, no changing bed, don't expect to have hot water dispenser. Maybe my expectation of a nursing room is very high as I seen how Entopia has them done nicely.

Overall review: 

Atmosphere: It is one of the latest attraction place in Penang. The place is still new and need more improvements. As their Exhibits are all interactive, visitors won't feel bored going for the 2nd time. As usual, Jelly just love running around and she loves the Exploration Zone. A good place to learn and bring family to visit. Suitable for children above 5 as they can play and learn science.

Service: They have 1 nursing rooms(Next to the toilet), which is not equipped, unless I am expected to nurse while standing. Other that that, their staffs are friendly and well trained, as they know what are the exhibits and teach us even without us asking how to play them. They are also very easy approaching visitors. Feel free to ask them if you have any doubts about their exhibits!
