Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul Review (Penang Road, Penang)

FYI, the maximum temperature in Penang for the month of February 2016 is 35°C and lowest is 25°C. My question is WHERE is the tabloid weather forecast mentioning Malaysia will be as cold as 16°C?!

When it is such a hot weather, we all sure crave for something cold. There is a type of dessert which is famous in Penang, that is Chendul!

Penang Road Famous Chendul

We manage to visit the main hawker stall which selling Famous Teochew Chendul in Penang Road. They also have ice kacang. Last time they are only a small hawker stall selling outside of the coffee shop. Now they has bought over 3 lots of shop nearby and customers can sit comfortably while enjoying nice chendul instead of standing around the stall. They also have their own website with plenty of other branches located in Penang, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and even up to Johor!

The new shop also selling assam laksa and Rojak + dessert. I have an itchy mouth so I also ordered a bowl of assam laksa.

Apparently the chendul melted when I arrived at the table... pity chendul.. huhu! The Chendul's ice didn't last very long in the hot weather and melted right away when they pour coconut milk on it. But it tasted nice and not too sweet with the palm sugar in it. Won't feel thirsty after eating it. Jelly loves the green jelly noodles made from rice flour! As it is made with coconut milk, I wouldn't let Jelly take it too much as scared she will have windy stomach later on.

Their price list which included GST (as on Feb 2016)

The assam laksa tasted very nice! It is full of fish meat and the soup tasted very good. It is not very spicy so you can finish the bowl of laksa without taking any drinks.

Overall Review :
Taste: The assam laksa tasted very nice and it is full of fish meat, the chendul tasted very nice with coconut milk and palm sugar, as not very sweet. For the taste I will give (8/10). BUT that evening after taking assam laksa and chendul, apparently me and my mother in law (except my husband and Jelly didn't ate the laksa) has stomach ache and diarrhea... we also felt very thirsty after having a meal there. It is not a nice experience for us... T_T (0/10)
Service: The employees(those in green t-shirt uniform) are fast in clearing the tables for next person to enjoy their food. No baby chair spotted and it is very cramp to have a stroller around as the tables are arranged at the side of a small road. They served quite fast if we waited and the stall for self service. Apparently we can also order from the employees which is easily detected with green t-shirt uniform.
Notes:
~ They have Chendul, Ais Kacang (with and without ice cream), Rojak and desserts.
~ There are no free parking space nearby. We parked a distance away at a normal boxed parking lot. Need to put ticket to avoid summon.
~ They have GST charges.
~ Need to supervise kids and toddlers as it is dining on the side of the road and often have lorries or vehicles driving through the road.
