Restorant Wei Xiang Duck Egg Charcoal Char Koay Teow (Alma) 味鄉鴨蛋炒粿條

I will never say reject Char Koey Teow, as it is one of my favorite dish! It can be served at anytime of the day, in the morning as breakfast until as a midnight snack (watch out for the calories if taken as midnight snack, LOL!)

Recently there are a lot of those food specialty shop that only sells one type of cuisine with several modified varieties, and I do noticed this shop, Restaurant Wei Xiang, only selling Char Koay Teow at Alma. We just drop by and pick a spot to sit but we need to order at the counter.

Their is actually very easy to spot as it is facing the main road. When we arrived around 10.20pm and it was already passed dinner time but the crowd is still there. The chef is frying non stop with around 7-8 plate per wok, as there are many people also waiting for take away.

We took a seat outside as inside was full.

Nutmeg Juice
RM1.80 per cup

While waiting for dinner, we used a coin to distract Jelly while waiting

Jelly love seeing the coin spin

After waiting for around 25 minutes, our plate of Char Koay Teow is served!
RM 4.00 / plate

Review:
Taste: I ordered without chili added so Jelly can enjoy too! It was really not spicy and their ingredients are fresh. The bean sprout also looks tempting compared to others where theirs has been overly cooked. It also smells and taste nice and their prawns also medium size. As due to it is kinda oily, it is best to eat hot else will taste kinda gross. The banana leaf also makes the dish more aromatic. Will dine again but need to watch the calories. If for big eater, this one plate is not sufficient, as it was a very small portion, more suitable as a quick snack or supper. (7/10)
Service: Self Service as we need to order at the frying counter and indicate you wanted spicy or non spicy. It was crowded inside so we sat outside and it took them 25 minutes to serve as there were people waiting for take away as well and only one chef and one wok. (7/10)
Price Range: RM4.00 per plate of Char Koay Teow and Rm1.80 per glass of nutmeg juice.
