Kenny Haus Coffee (Butterworth) Review

It's a lovely Monday and I manage to meet one of my secondary friend for lunch and leaving Jelly with grandma today. We decided and stop by at Kenny Haus Cafe for lunch and some chit chats! The place is easy to find as it is facing the main road.

The cafe is managed by a lovely couple without extra pairs of hands, therefore it's self service, order at the counter, and need to be patient for your food to be served if the place is packed. They don't have a paper menu, and everything is written on a white board. The cafe owner also mentioned that the menu will change from time to time to give customer some new taste.

After going through their menu, I am tempted to try all of them, but limited to only 1 stomach... in the end, I challenged the XXXL chicken chop! (Mind me, that I am a milk making mom, so my appetite is slightly bigger than usual...lol!). My friend ordered a Pesto Pasta with salad, with BBQ chicken. While ordering, you can even mention your preferred cooking style, like removed chicken skin, or less ice for iced beverage.

While waiting for food to be served, and since I do not need to attend to Jelly, I can manage to take some photos of their cozy surroundings.

Eventually I found out that the owner is a nutritionist and he eventually source for the better food quality and served at a lower price. As from his conversation, his vegetables are freshly from Cameron Highlands, fish fillets, lambs and beef are imported good qualities and even his "special" fries are from Australia. He even makes his own seasoning and sauce (except for ketchup and chili sauce)... His motive is to provide a healthy meal to his customers with a more affordable price. My friend even swear that she managed to lost weight by having his healthy pasta pesto and panini for lunch.

Their drinks is also healthy and less sugar. If u prefer sweeter drinks, you can ask the owner for suggestions. My caramelized milk apple has a mild sweetness, with a slight smell of apple plus caramel and milk. Their ice blended passion fruit, eventually it's healthy that it's sour... food for those who wants a healthy drink!

Ice Blended Passion Fruit, less sweet but sour, suitable for weight watchers! - RM8.90

Pesto pasta with BBQ chicken tasted so good! Their veges are fresh and the boss said that is not cherry tomato but Japanese cultivated mini tomatoes which has thicker skin than normal cherry tomatoes. The chicken is well marinated with herbs and spices. It is also very tender when chewed on... the pesto has a mild tasted to match the heavy flavored chicken.

My weight watcher friend swears she lost weight eating pasta or panini for lunch

When my chicken arrived, only I understand why it is called special fries... It is not like local store's fried like straight cut or crinkle cut, but it's a curved cut! It tasted like fries but with less moisture but didn't have the dry grainy feeling inside and slightly crunchy outside. It is also served with wasabi mayo sauce. The chicken is boneless quarter chicken, no wonder it's thicker than usual chicken chop!

Their special fries which imported from Australia!

They have serving panini as well but I wanted to try their waffles, and waffles wins! Their waffles is different from waffles outside. We managed to ask the lady boss to change the toppings to cranberries and coconut flakes. Extra toppings will come with extra charges. The waffles are slightly thicker with crunchier outer layer and slightly chewy inside, match with pecan & almond ice cream! Pictures says a thousand words. See them or go try them yourselves!

Overall review:
Taste: I didn't taste thirsty after eating it. Their portion is filling and slightly larger. Healthy eating and delicious! Now you can have both... (9/10)
Service: It's a self service ordering cafe, both the owner is friendly and will notify us if we need to wait while ordering. Since when we dine, there are not many customers, serving time is short. If you are in a hurry, you can call to order first and it will cut short serving time.
Notes:
~ Healthy meals for weight watchers.
~ Car park is available, but need to put MPSP coupon.
