Warning: This post of food is NON HALAL
It is a lovely Saturday, and normally I don't eat out, as my Mother In Law (MIL) will cook at home. Today she decided not to cook and we decide to eat out. Then we all agreed to take Bak Kut Teh.
Bak Kut means pork bones and Teh means tea. It is literally boiling herbs with pork bones (ribs). This Bak Kut Teh which I am reviewing is the Penang version. There are a lot of versions, example the Singapore version, Klang version and dried version.
This is how it looks like. It is normally served in claypot. This shop serves in S, M, L size. There are 4 of us so we ordered the Large one. In the pot normally will contain pork meat, ribs, intestines, meat ball, enoki and shiitake mushrooms and garnished with lettuce. We also like dipping in You Char Koay(fried dough) to soak up the soup and eat.
Everyone is hungry and they need to dig in before the camera |
Normally served with fried dough (You Char Koay) and white rice. They have yam rice too but finished already. |
Jelly is distracted by their pet poddle |

Review:
Taste: Still ok, pork meat kinda tender, and their soup aroma is strong (7/10)
Service: acceptable, its a kopitiam, don't expect 5 star service (5/10)Notes:
~They provide baby chair so can bring kids/children who can sit by their own support.
~Not much parking and hardly any parking nearby as there are shops beside and opposite.~This shop charged EXTRA 6% on total bill. They didn't provide receipt so I am not sure what the 6% stands for unless it's GST and they didn't display their GST number anywhere or state they will extra charge GST anywhere. Anyway, most chinese will just eat and pay the total bill which is told verbally not knowing what are they charged for.

I don't get paid by this review and all are my humble and honest review.
